WAVES!!

We just came back from the beach. It all of a sudden got windy in Vernon and guess what that means? BIG WAVES at the beach. Whenever is windy we love running down to the beach to play in the waves. They were way bigger than the usual big waves. The water water was bathtub warm. When we got out of the water to leave Nicholas put his boogie board down to get his towel and glasses. When I realized what he had done it was to late. Teh wind had carried it off and it was no where to be found. He says "I didn't try too" I told him he should really try NOT too! He knows even if to thing is ties to a foot it will not stay on the ground in the wind. Kids sure can be careless, I am not sure why I got 4 of them.
There is a big forest fire in Kelowna which. Even though it is 1 hour away from us it is super smokey here.
My mom and I are sharing my brother Daryl's kids for a few days. The boys have mostly been at my house and all the girls have been at grandmas which is great.
Anyone wanna go back to the beach with me and play in the waves? I love it here! I will have to post pics of my garden soon. I have tons of Zuchinni, spinach, swish chard and beans ready. I can't believe how easy it is to grow stuff here.
Now I am off to get the kids in bed early for once.

It has been forever since I have blogged. I was wplanning on doing it regularly but that did not happen. So much has happened since my last blog. In my last blog I started a new job. Well I have quit that job. I really loved it and was very good at it but Mike was having to come home early on the days I worked and in the end we lost about $50 everytime I worked. So we didn't think it was worth it. Since I was good at the job they would love to have me back so I will see how things go in Sept when the kids are all in school full time. I may go back one day a week.

We have had lots of company so far this Summer. Starla and the kids, Ian and Janet, Cory and June, Robin, Candy, Betty and Elizabeth. In a couple days Mikes Brother and family and sister and family will all be here.
We have been spending tons of time at the beach. Hudson is excelling at swimming and Julia is turning into a good little swimmer too.
The boys have started Piano lessons b/c we got an amazing deal in a piano. The girls have recently got there ears peirced and look super cute!

We are going to be starting a big home reno right away. We finally bought some nice laminate and will be ripping out our brown/pinky/orange carpet and replacing it, we will paint and change light fixtures window coverings. I can't wait to get started. I will show some before and after pictures when it is done.

I guess that is enough of an update for now

Update!

Life certainly does speed by. Much has happened since my last post at xmas, I had intended to become a regular blogger again :(
The most exciting news is that the boys, Mike, Myself and Kyle went to Honduras the first week of March. We had a fabulous time. We had many great adventures. The girls stayed with my parents and they all had a good time. I came back with lots of sea shells and a couple beautiful hand bags. Next time I go I will buy more.
When we got back I decided I should get a job. Luck would have it that my mom does Daycare for the owners of a great arch support store called GOOD FEET in Vernon. Mike also has been doing Reno's to there house. They were more than happy to hire me and the wage is no bad either. I have been there for two days now. I really like it. I love the products and since I love to sell it is a great fit for me. My hours are very flexable and I am able to be home to take the girls to school and pick them up. There is tons to learn but I will get it eventually.
Spring is here, my perennials are coming up. Pretty soon the cherry trees will be blossoming and then beach weather ~ Can't wait. We are dieing to have some visitors. Vernon is a super fun place for a vacation and we live just a two minute walk from an awesome beach. Let us know when you are coming and we will find room for you.

Merry christmas and Happy New Year!

I woke up this morning (New Years Day) with headache! I will not be writing much. Christmas was fun, the kids had a great time with their cousins. We ate lots, watched movies, played games and the funnest of all was tobaganning. I haven't got any pictures of sledding yet but when I do I will post them.

We had another little birthday celebration, this time with only adults. This year I made two birthday cakes. Hudson wanted chocolate and Nicholas wanted Angel food.

Alvan and Trish and Carolyn Jacobs all came for cake. The Kids just love Alvan! He is always playing with them. They walk over to his house to visit him quite often. Carolyn was the boys Sunday school teacher for a few months and has babysat them a few times. They think she is great to.

This is Kyles dog Oscar. He is a nice dog! The girls hang on to his chain and pull him around and he loves it.

Here are Oscar and Samson. Samson is nice to but much bigger. The girls are scared of him even though he is just as nice as Oscar.

This is Ashlyn. She is so excited for Christmas!

Boys Birthday.

The boys had thier 9th birthday party ont he weekend. I let them agree on two friends and we took them swimming. Vernon has an awesome pool! I thought Regina's pool was great, but this one had a real waterslide, climbing wall, rope, whirl pool, diving boards and the kids were actually allowed in the hottub! IT was lots of fun. After the pool we took them to Dairty Queen and they picked out a birthday cake. We ate it at DQ so I didn't even have to deal with a mess. IT was a great birthday party. I can't believe the boys will be 9 in a few days. Where has the time gone?

Lots of Snow.

This is what we see from our couch. I took this picture through our dirty window.

Bathroom Reno (wish it was mine)

Mike has been tiling a bathroom for someone for the last while. He is finally done that project and will be starting 3 others at the same house in January. I loved how the floor turned out! Mike is a pretty amazing tiler!

Have You Hugged a Snowman Today?

We had our fist official dump of the season! It is great! The snow is perfect here for snowmen. The girls made the balls themselves until they got to heavey to roll and then it was Mom to the rescue. Our side year is a long hill. It is not steep at all but enough of a grade for the girls to think it is so fun to sled down. They spent about 2 hours outside . Today I did some shopping then picked the girls up from School and then took the girls to grandma's daycare to have their annual xmas party. While they were there I made buttertarts. Tonight we will be decorating the tree so I will post pics of that theis weekend
